He is very intelligent and learns tricks very quickly so I wanted to buy a few puzzles to keep him challenged and stimulate his brain. His first attempt took him around 2 mins and his fourth attempt in 20 seconds. My big gentle rotty took around 5 mins and completed the game very logically and gently. My pugalier took even longer and I had to help her a little but she got there in the end. The puzzle is very well made, strong and sturdy which needs to be for my staffie as he would demolish it if left alone.
I would recommend this for any size and breed of dog of any level as you can make it easier or harder. Although my staffie is a whizz at it he stills loves looking for treats. Our boisterous spaniel pup loves this treat activity toy. Took her a while to master the lever was just luck at first , and she still hasn't mastered how to pull the red trays out again, at the moment they come out more by luck than judgement on her part.
She always gets incredibly excited when she see's this being taken off the shelf and enjoys trying to master it each time. I vary where she will find her treats, and what treats I add to help keep this exciting for her. My Welsh Collie and I were really happy with this puzzle. Ceio, was thrilled when he found he could open the windows and get a treat. He didn't take long to work out the sliding and lever actions. This is a really great idea and is quite robust but it has an "achillies heel".
The neck of the lever is to narrow and weak for the possible power of the push from even a medium sized dog. In the case of my puzzle, Ceio played the game about six times before the lever snapped. Maybe in the next design iteration, the neck of the lever could be made thicker or even of a more resilient material. Even small dogs when they are excited are very strong. Would have been 5 stars if it had not broken so soon. I bought this as an xmas prezzies for my Doberman 30 kg of clumsiness we filled it with treats twice before the bone handle snapped off after she stood on it.
Great gadget apart from the 2 removable pieces. These are small enough for dogs to swallow so we ditched those components to make it safer.
I appreciate you shouldnt leave your dog unsupervised with this, but our dog is faster moving that us which I'm sure is the case with most dogs. She loves eating her kibble in this interactive game so as long as we don't use the 2 removable bits, it's good value and a success.
I bought this to add a bit of fun for my miniature labradoodle. When I unpacked it, I thought it might prove a bit of a challenge for him.
However, he had worked it out in less than a minute! I should have perhaps gone for a more complicated puzzle for him. I think it is a good stimulant for small dogs and I'm sure they get a lot of fun from it. This is a fantastic learning experience for my small dog - it produces lots of giggles as you watch them fathom how to get treats out of the various locations. My sons two small puppies together with my own small dog had lots of fun at christmas with this. Very good mental activity for the dogs.
The puppies tho surpassed my little dog - he was not impressed when they ate all the treats before him. My little dog has really enjoyed this toy and it keeps him busy and interested for a little while. I put all sorts of little treats in the different places and he spends some time working out how to get them all!
It is a good size, sturdy and washable. Would definitely recommend it. See all 1, reviews. Would you like to see more reviews about this item? Pages with related products. My black lab had been "blowing coat" for weeks this spring and it seemed never ending.
I used the furminator on her as soon as I got it, and I haven't had to use it again since. Got everything and there's been no more shedding! She seems much more comfortable in the warm weather as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by Brie from Works great! Don't fall for the fake ones.
I use on my 2 labs! Rated 5 out of 5 by Tyson from Shedding a lot for a Pitbull Mix Tyson loves car rides but have to get car detailed after an short trips Now Tyson loves the be furmd so more trips in the car Rated 5 out of 5 by Chumley from Finally a real one! We had unknowingly bought a fake on Amazon a couple of years ago. Worked well for a while, or so we thought. In contact with customer service at furminator, they were so nice and attentive by the way, they noticed that ours was a fake.
They helped us purchase a real one and wow, what a difference! The fake might have looked the same but the genuine works so much better at getting our dogs' hair. We are very happy with furminator and their customer service and would definitely recommend to other with animal shedding issues. Rated 5 out of 5 by Cooper from Love this Furminator I purchased my Furminator on December last year, for my German shepherd he is now 16 months old. I love this Furminator. Rated 3 out of 5 by Dollysmom from Time will tell I have only had mine for about a week, and i like the feature that allows me to eject the hair from the tool, but i have not noticed decreased shedding yet.
It does a good job of coming and pulling out hair, but i don't know if it is doing anything to decrease shedding overall. Rated 5 out of 5 by Patti from Definitely less fur! I use this on my dogs a couple times a week, and have noticed there is definitely less hair in my house.
And my dogs love it! Rated 5 out of 5 by Kim53 from Works great I bought three since we have different sized dogs and cat version too.
They remove a lot of hair and hope this means less on clothes and furniture. Rated 4 out of 5 by Cammie from Works amazing! My finace's mom swore by the Furminator so we bought one. Bear basically has a twin after we are done brushing him! The only thing is My fiance was brushing Bear the other day and the Furminator just..
I'm not sure what made it come apart, maybe the glue didn't hold or something? But after when we were trying to piece it back together we noticed the little spring that allows you to push the fur off was gone and we couldn't find it.
Now I'm just waiting for a coupon or sale so I can buy another one. This time I'll keep my receipt. Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve32 from Lady loves it We've been using the furminator for one month and are very happy with it.
It easily removes a great deal of hair with each gentle pass. I wish we had bought it earlier. As a plus, our black lab loves it too. She used to tolerate her sheddings, then would walk away as soon as we were done. Now she remains in place, as if she wants it to continue. Rated 4 out of 5 by Sandy from Amazing! Wow, this product removes so much needless fur from my 3 dogs. It was recommended by their groomer and well worth the price.
The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is the push button mechanism that helps remove fur from the tool broke off within days that I received it. The redeeming action was the manufacturer sent me a new one along with some complimentary treats for my dogs. This product and company are great!
I just spent minutes brushing his coat and got a mound of hair that would have otherwise ended up on the couch, bed, etc. My dog loves it when we brush him with the furminator - you can see his smile in the picture below.
I was hesitant to purchase this product because I honestly did not believe any brush would work on short haired dogs, but I'm so glad I did. It's very gentle and does not "pull or rip" his fur off of his body, and he loves how it feels - he seriously lays down and rolls over so I can get his entire, massive body. This this is good and removes so much hair, but because he is a short haired breed, I'd recommend another follow up brush to collect up some of the loose hair, most likely because it collects up so much fur that I didn't push the blue release button to "empty" it fast enough.
Seriously, if you're considering buying one; just stop it, do yourself a favor, and go buy one! On a side note, it felt kind of therapeutic for me because it's relaxing and I know my dog appreciate the attention he gets, making our bond even stronger! Ginger, our lab, has already lost almost a full kitchen waste basket of fur. When she sees it she starts sniffing it and wagging her tail.
